How often have we heard or read about this: our thoughts create the world around us. Whatever we think or belief about ourselves or about our life manifests itself in our surroundings.
Have you ever had it happen that you believed a project you were working on was going to fail only to find out that it did shortly after? Do you keep telling yourself that you always fall into the same patterns in relationships and then attract partners that confirm that belief? Do you believe that making money is hard and find yourself struggling through jobs?
All these situations and circumstances were created by our beliefs about how our life is supposed to look like, beliefs about who we are and who and what we are supposed to be. You see how powerful our thoughts are and how negative thinking is making us struggle through life, how it prevents us from being successful, from attracting the relationship we would like to have or finding the job we would like to work.
But where do these beliefs come from? We start learning the moment we are born. We learn from our family, we learn from our teachers, peer group, friends, and society. The way they live their lives, what they think is possible or not, what is right or not, what they think life is supposed to look like and what they tell us about ourselves affects us on a subconscious level. And we subconsciously decide to either follow their example and except their truth about ourselves or to rebel against it.
Here an example: A little boy constantly causes trouble in kindergarten. The teacher is finally fed up and tells him:”With your behavior you will never amount to anything.” The boy, who sees the teacher as an authority figure, someone who he learns from, accepts this statement as the truth. Thirty years go by, the boy is now a grown up man, but no matter how hard he tries, how ambitious and intelligent he is, he doesn’t amount to anything, because subconsciously he still believes he can’t. And unless he changes this belief, he will keep struggling.
If you have beliefs that you are unworthy of being supported, then you will attract people who will constantly keep you hanging. If you belief that you can’t trust anybody, life will prove that to you by sending you people who might betray you or who are unreliable. If you have a fear of being abandoned, you will have people come into your life only to leave you in the end. If you have the belief that life is hard, life is a struggle, then that is exactly what you will experience.
But if you feel worthy of having wonderful and loving people around you, then those are the kind of people you will attract. If you believe that life is joyful and exciting, then this is how your life will be. If you believe you deserve your dream job and are excited about it, you will have no problem attracting it.
The next time you come into a situation that upsets you, ask yourself:
- “Why am I attracting this? Why am I attracting these people, places and circumstances?”
- “Who taught me this? Where did I learn that this is how it life supposed to be?”
- “Why am I obligating myself to go through these experiences? Why am I obligating others to treat me a certain way?”
Do your work about finding out what the root cause of your beliefs and thereby your situation is. And then go ahead and change your thoughts. Train yourself to remember that life is a miracle and adventure and you are a part of this miracle, worthy and deserving of a life filled with joy, love and abundance.
By refusing to accept negative circumstances and people and by being willing to make a change in our life by changing our attitude and thoughts, we move out of being a victim to being a master of our life. We create the world around us with our thoughts. So which world is it that you choose to create?
