I just got a message from my cousin!
Subject: Family Hello!
Tinkie B, you cute little girl. It’s your cousin Meagan and I just wanted to say hi. Tell your mommy I said hi too. Love you both!
Hello to you too! Would love it if you would come down and visit sometime. It’s beautiful this time of year in SoCal! We can play ball on the beach!

Hello Everyone!
It’s been awhile since I have been on my blog or answered emails. I took a little time to unplug and get back to nature. However, after my little vacation, I came back to lots of your emails!
Here is an interesting email from Ruby in West Hollywood:
Dear Tinkerbelle,
I am a single, red, female, Corgi living in West Hollywood. My life here in Weho is great except for a few puzzling things. I don’t seem to get much play around here. Now, I’m not talking about the humans. They are forever petting me, scratching me behind the ears and telling me how adorable I am. I’m talking about the fellas. There are a good dozen or so cute, single and available gents on my block alone. But it just seems like I can’t keep their attention for longer than 5 minutes. We could be playing ball one second and the next thing I know, said guy has moved on and started chatting up the next pup, often times, another male like himself. I just don’t get it.
Please tell me what I’m doing wrong. I need all the help I can get.
Sincerely,
Ruby Kim Sackler
Dear Ruby,
First of all, yes, you are adorable and I can see why the humans love you so much. As for your puzzlement with the male pooches, there is nothing wrong. It may sound cliché but trust me, it’s not you, it’s them. There are some boy dogs that simply aren’t into girl dogs. They prefer the company of the gents themselves. And, there are some girl dogs that prefer girl dogs. That’s all. It’s not that you are not a pretty pup, you are just not their type. But, for every one that might not be in to a gorgeous girl like you, there is another one that would be tail over ears thrilled to have the chance to play ball with you. My advice, just go out there and be yourself. You might also want to persuade your owner to take you
to a variety of parks, like here in the Southbay where I live. I know a few males that might be your type Don’t worry, with your looks and charm, you’ll attract the pup that is right for you! In fact, with this picture, I bet there are some handsome studs who will be asking about you soon.

My Mommy loves me just as much as Charlotte loves her Elizabeth Taylor! Elizabeth Taylor is my new friend! – Tinkerbelle
In the series, “Sex and the City,” Charlotte adopts a dog that ends up having puppies after an excursion in the park. At that time, Charlotte felt that she was the only one not getting pregnant – Everyone around her was with baby – even her own dog! How times have changed! In “Sex and the City 2,” Charlotte not only has a child through adoption, but she has one naturally as well.

Charlie
I’m sad to say that I lost my buddy Charlie last week. He was quite handsome with his silky smooth coat. He left this earth too early and he will be missed. But now, he flies free with doggy angels above. Send a loving thought to Charlie and his Mom Gayle.

I had so much fun today playing with the cat by chasing him around. He’s my best pal. Friends and loved ones mean so much. Have you told somebody you love them today?

I am so excited its June! That means I get to be outside so much more and my little body doesn’t get so cold in the mornings. Since this is LOVE month on LifeBites, I thought I would chime in on all this commitment stuff. Enjoy!!!

Mail Time!! I’ve been getting so many great emails from all of my friends! Here is one that I would like to share from my friends Logan and Dutch (Lil’ Man) which brings up an important question for all us dogs and our owners!
Hi Tinkerbelle!
It’s Logan and Dutch (Lil’ Man) from Redondo Beach.
We wanted to remind all our friends to take their Families out for walks now that the warm weather is here. Every neighborhood is an exploration! New smells, new friends and great exercise for all (smile)! Yesterday we met Hendrix and Binko who were out in the front yard gardening with their dad. We wanted to leave our scent of approval on the new flowers but mom said no. So we picked a tree instead.
Our question for today: Our mom picks up our poo from the lawns we use. Isn’t it more green aware to leave it?
Thanks! You’re the cutest!
Logan and Dutch (Lil’ Man)
Thanks so much for the email Logan and Dutch! Good to see that you two are getting outside a lot this spring and meeting new friends!! We should plan a walk together soon! I’m sorry about the flowers, but at least you were able to find a tree to approve
As for your question about doggie droppings – from what I have found while surfing the net is that it is actually MORE green to have your owner pick it up. It is better for the environment and for us too (plus, it seems to make other humans happy for some reason). Below I posted a great article I found from the LA Times about picking up. To be even more green, tell your owner to look for biodegradable, eco-friendly waste bags.
Thanks again for the email and the great question! If anyone else out there has more information on this topic, please email me. We all want to do our part to keep our world green!
There are more than enough reasons to clean up after your dog; remaining on good terms with the neighbors has always been mine. But the city of Los Angeles is encouraging pet owners to remember some even more important reasons to pick up pet waste with the Stormwater Program:
A nasty protozoan called Giardia which can make both you and your dog sick is also spread through waste. A recent Giardia outbreak at an L.A. city shelter infected between 30 and 40 dogs (fortunately, quick treatment allowed them to make full recoveries). So how can future outbreaks be avoided? “Prevention is based on good sanitation practices to prevent ingestion of any feces, contaminated food, water or objects,” said Dr. Steven Feldman of the L.A. Department of Animal Services. “It is important to dispose of waste materials in such a way that they cannot contaminate surface or ground water.”
Rain washes pet waste into storm drains, which lead to L.A.’s waterways and to the ocean. Bacteria can affect marine life, not to mention you when you go to the beach!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today’s holiday commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It is also a day to celebrate Mexican culture. I think I will go to the park and have a fiesta with my friends!

I am wanting to nap a lot today… but I am hoping my Mom will take me to the park later… because I will be ready to go! I have also been catching up on my emails. I like getting email from my readers and their dogs, cats and other pet friends. Why don’t you email me and let me know how your day is going? tinkerbelle@lifebites.comRuff Ruff!

I was surfing the web today and I came across this story that I had to share with you!
Yesterday it was really windy… I am so glad that my Mom holds me tight on cold, windy days.
I’m just glad that they found my fellow, Chihuahua friend Tinker Bell (no relation) safe and sound. There is no place like home!!
AP: WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A six-pound Chihuahua has been reunited with her owners after a 70-mph gust of wind picked the puppy up and tossed her out of sight. Dorothy and Lavern Utley credit a pet psychic for guiding them on Monday to a wooded area nearly a mile from where 8-month-old Tinker Bell had been last seen. The brown long-haired dog was dirty and hungry but otherwise OK.
Happy Earth Day! I think it’s very important to protect our green spaces – especially our parks where I love to run and play.
